Add or Update an Alternate Address in Directory
This article provides steps to add an alternate address in Directory.
You can set an alternate address in the system for families who wish to receive their envelopes at a temporary address, as, for example, at a summer or winter residence. When the alternate address is activated (by scheduling active dates for the alternate address or by selecting it as the Current Residence), envelopes are sent to the alternate address instead of the primary address. You can update the alternate address at any time or Delete an Alternate Address if needed.
Complete the following steps to add an alternate address in Directory:
Adding the Alternate Address
1. In Directory, search for and select the family to view the family detail page.
2. On the Family Detail card, click the ellipsis to view the drop-down menu.
3. In the drop-down menu, select Add Alternate Address.
4. Enter the Alternate Address on the side sheet.
Note* You can store the alternate address in the system by clicking the Add button without scheduling active dates or selecting Current Residence. However, the alternate address will not receive envelopes until active dates are scheduled or it is selected as the Current Residence.
Scheduling the Alternate Address
You can schedule a beginning and end date for the alternate address to be active. During the scheduled dates, envelopes the family is enrolled to receive are sent to the alternate address instead of the primary address. At the end of the scheduled dates, envelopes will once again be sent to the primary address.
1. On the Add Alternate Address side sheet, select Schedule Alternate Address.
2. Enter or select the Start Date and End Date.
Note* The system processes the alternate address schedules each night. Therefore, if you schedule an Alternate Address to become active for a timeframe that includes the current date, it does not become active until the next day. If you need an alternate address to be active on the date it is added, you can select the alternate address as the Current Residence, and it will become active right away.
3. Click the Add button. The alternate address is added to the family record and will receive envelopes during the scheduled dates.
Selecting Current Residence
The Current Residence feature allows you to manually control whether the alternate address is active. Selecting the alternate address as the Current Residence makes the alternate address active, and envelopes are sent to the alternate address. Envelopes will be sent to the alternate address until you de-select Current Residence.
Note* You cannot set a schedule of active dates for the alternate address and select Current Residence at the same time.
1. On the Add Alternate Address Side Sheet, select Current Residence.
2. Click the Add button.
The alternate address can be updated at anytime by selecting Update Alternate Address in the drop-down menu.
