Create a Copy of a Term in Religious Education
This article provides steps to create a copy of a term and its classes in Religious Education.
An administrator can create a copy of a term including its classes in Religious Education from either an active or completed term. Many terms are set up similarly each year. To save time you can copy a previous term from the desired term page.
The copy includes the existing programs, program pricing, discounts, payment options, welcome message, and terms and conditions. These items can be updated as necessary. The form must be completed for the copied term information to save successfully in the system.
When the administrator selects Duplicate Classes, upon completion of the wizard, the newly copied term creates copies of all of the classes from the original term. Duplicating classes when copying a term copies the base information for all classes within a term, which saves time for the administrator. Once created, terms and classes can be edited or updated at a later date if necessary.
Complete the steps to create a copy of a term and classes:
1. From Religious Education go to Terms.
2. Choose an active or completed term as a starting point for the new term.
Note* Copying a term will duplicate all programs, discounts, registration options and communication settings.
3. Click on the ellipsis to view the drop-down menu.
4. Click on Copy Term from the menu.
5a. The default setting is to Copy settings from another term. (Unchecking the box allows you to create a brand new term, not a copy.)
5b. Click on the drop-down menu to choose the term to duplicate if desired.
6. Check the Duplicate Classes box to duplicate classes when copying a term.
7. The Term Type and the Term Name can be changed at this time, or left as is and edited at a later date.
8. Enter Term start and end dates.
9. Click on the Continue button.
Note* Information on any of the subsequent pages of the wizard can be changed at this time, or left as is and edited at a later date.
10. Customize the Registration link.
11. Click on the Continue button on each page to move forward in the wizard.
Note* The information for the new term is not saved to the database until the user clicks the Complete button at the end of the form.
12. Click on Complete.
Note* Once the form is completed, the new copy is visible on the term page.
