Regardless of your online giving system, you can import those transactions into the directory.
Follow these instructions to create your export files:
Importing the File
Once you have the CSV or Excel file saved from your current Online Giving provider, open the giving menu and select “Contribution Import” from the menu on the left-hand side.
Then Click “Upload File” and select the file from your computer.
Then select Import.
The file will import, confirm the number of transactions imported, and if any transactions were excluded.
Transactions can be excluded for a variety of reasons:
- The fund numbers do not match what you have set up in Directory.
- The donor’s envelope number doesn’t exist in the system.
- The transaction appears to be a duplicate because of date, amount, fund, and envelope # existing for a different transaction.
These items will appear as such in the “Transactions Not Imported” area:
You can make the necessary adjustments in the system to add the family, update an envelope number, and reimport. You can also make adjustments to your CSV file and then reimport. Any duplicates will be avoided.

Giving Out of Sync
If it’s been 8 or more day since your last import, you will see this “Giving Data Out of Sync” dashboard card when you log into Directory.
This page will display how many days since your previous import and will reset after every import.
