Fund Number

This article describes what a Fund Number is and how it is used.

Each Fund has a Fund Number. The Fund Number is determined when setting up a new online fund.

A Fund Number has two purposes:

  1. To get money to match up across different systems when an organization uses the Our Sunday Visitor’s Online Giving software and their own Church Manager system
  2. To act as a General Ledger number when an organization uses both Our Sunday Visitor’s Online Giving and Church Manager software

When an export is performed from the Online Giving system the transactions are exported with the Fund Number and tied to the appropriate Fund in their Church Management system.

With OSV Church Manager the Fund Number is used as the actual general ledger account when the organization exports to QuickBooks or another accounting program.
