Permission Level Descriptions

This article describes the permission levels for users in the Mission Pathways application.

Mission Pathways designed the user permission levels with a lot of flexibility. From an Administrator with full access to a volunteer who may require read-only permissions, each access level can be set by module and addresses the various user needs.

Permission Level Types

Permission levels can be set by module, meaning a user can have two different access levels between Encounter and Grow. The graphics below illustrate user permissions in the Encounter module; permission levels in the Grow module behave in much the same way.

There are four levels you can assign to the application users. They are:

1. Admin - this user has full control over the application, including adding and removing users, updating users' privileges, creating, editing and deleting sessions and groups, and sending out communications to participants and volunteers.

2. Read/Write/Create - a user with this permission level has many of the same privileges as an Admin: they can create, edit, or delete any sessions and groups. Read/Write/Create users can create, edit, or delete the above information in ALL sessions/groups. Like those with Admin permission level, Read/Write/Create users can also send out communications to participants and volunteers.

3. Read/Write - a user with this permission level has more limited access than those with either the Admin or Read/Write/Create access. The Read/Write permission level allows the user to edit profile/session/group/registration form information but has no delete capability. In addition, Read/Write users can edit the above information only in sessions/groups they are a part of.

4. Read-only - as the name indicates, users with read-only permission can read the details of any session/group they are a part of. They have no create, edit, or delete capabilities.
